Safeguarding Policy

Last updated 3 May 2026 · Version 4.2

NSEMM is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff, volunteers, and tutors to share this commitment.

1. Scope

This policy applies to all NSEMM activities involving anyone under 18, whether delivered online or in person, by paid staff or volunteers.

2. Reporting a concern

Any safeguarding concern should be reported immediately via the dedicated reporting channel — see the link in the site footer, available from every page.

3. Roles & responsibilities

Every member of staff and every volunteer tutor has a personal responsibility to act on any safeguarding concern, regardless of seniority or role.

4. Training

All tutors complete safeguarding training before their first session and refresh it annually. Records are kept centrally.

5. Policy review

This policy is reviewed annually by the trustee board, or sooner if a safeguarding incident or change in legislation requires it.
